Kate Parker’s life hits the most awkward it has been after a disastrous and confusing trip to France. Despite their best efforts, even her best friend and mother can’t seem to pick up the pieces. It takes a seemingly chance meeting with an acerbic nonagenarian and her off-hand loan of a recipe book to shed some light on new possibilities.
About the Playwright
Andrea Rassler (Andy) Rassler has been involved in various aspects of theatre all her life. After a successful 34-year career in secondary theatre education, Andy has begun her semi-retirement by working with intellectually and developmentally disabled adults and refocusing on her playwriting. Since she began writing plays about nineteen years ago, she has written dozens of ten-minute plays, a handful of one-acts, and full-length plays that have seen readings, productions, and publications. Her hope is to continue exploring all aspects of theatre, as it is her love. Andy lives in Concord with her husband (Brian) of 35 years and has two grown children, a cat and a dog. Away from the theatre, she enjoys quiet days of reading and snuggling with her pets, intense pickleball games, and word games. She is forever grateful to Matt Webster who has championed this play from the start, the incredible cast that has been assembled to tell this story, Vicky Zimmerman the author of the original novel upon which this play has been based, and Marla Brown. It is a rare honor to have a production mounted of an original piece and I am eternally and profoundly grateful.
